Realize you are a child of your God who is also the King of the Universe and HIs Name is Jesus. Know that you are now accepted and loved by Him because He chose you to be IN HIM before you were you. It is only now that you have just realized this.
Understand that you have your part to play, that is, things are expected of you. You will not be able to earn more or less of His love, but you can disregard plain commands whereby your Lord and Savior is either more or less pleased with you, based upon your behavior. Know that your relationship must grow from one of "obligation" to one of "I want to."
You have always been in a spiritual battle. But now, that you have begun to see, you will also begin to realize, learn and understand that you have now walked onto this battlefield with your eyes opened for the first time.
There are 2 kingdoms, light and dark, God and the devil and his demons. Satan's kingdom has been at war against God and his defeat is now an eternal fact and a foregone conclusion that has already been written.
You have been made responsible as "His Ambassador as have all whom He has called and chosen. It is your responsibility to learn to not just how to defend against our enemy's attacks, but to learn how and when to wield all of the spiritual weapons that are now at your disposal.
1. Read your Bible. Become very personally familiar with what our God has revealed to us in His written Word.
2. Read devotionally. That is, make a habit and regular exercise of your Bible reading with the same diligence and regularity as you approach your morning shower and toothbrushing.
3. Start with one of my systematic Bible Reading Plans available FREE in my store. Download and print the depth and quality of the reading plan that you will commit to without excuse.
Find a fellowship of Godly believers somewhere and grow together with them. Remember that not all who name the name of Jesus and pray over their food are worth eating breakfast with, much less following.
Look for a church or even small fellowship that always points you to the Word of God for answers and to the place of intimacy and fellowship with your God by His Holy Spirit.
Get connected with multimedia fellowships like this one regularly, but be careful to not spread yourself out too much or you'll end up with not enough butter to cover that much bread. In other words, be picky and particular about who and what you hear always.
Always, no matter how busy you get with even practical ministry or family, make HIM your first and main love. Make your intimacy and fellowship with Jesus, by His Spirit and in His Word, your first and main priority above and before anything and everything else you do.
